Mr Cecil Hiddlestone was interviewed by Donna Moore on 19 August 1983. He was born in 1909 and recalls shopkeepers in Subiaco, Aborigines, Lime Kiln track, Whittakers, 'Paddy' fire cart horse, the plague 1918, Tigers Well, Jolimont Swamp, Voluntary Fire Brigade, Subiaco School, internees - Goethe, Police 'Smiler' sports, grocery shop at corner Barker/Denis streets, making ice-cream, going into the electrical business, the Depression.

Cecil Hiddlestone is deceased.
