The Jerusalem International YMCA, a four story building with a tall, square tower in front of it. "YMCA, largest in world. Jerusalem." (26 King David Street) Jerusalem. After seven years of construction, the new YMCA, located on Julian Way north of the elegant Talbiyya neighborhood in the commercial center of the New City, opened its doors in 1933. The YMCA accepted British, Arab, and Jewish members, adopting a neutral position to the ongoing strife between the native Palestinian community and the Zionist movement.
