Overview

Harry Whittington devoted most of his life developing innovative solutions to the growing salinity problems in the Wheatbelt and South Western Australia. In 1978, a group of farmers who were convinced by Harry’s ideas formed the Whittington Interceptor Sustainable Agriculture Land Treatment Society Incorporated (WISALTS).

The collection consists of photographs, farm plans, newspaper clippings, correspondence, documents, notebooks, newsletters, minutes, agendas and other various items relation to the operation of WISALTS. It also includes Harry Whittington’s research into contour banks and subsequent engineering of the interceptor bank.
