Property of ALJ Paganoni, Broome Hill, Western Australia, Australia
1982Surveyor's Report on WISALTS Soil Conservation System created by R (Rod) Sawyer. Comments: 16 to 18 inches rainfall. Topsoil 3 inches to 3 feet 6 inches. Most topsoil about 18 inches deep. All creeks seem to be very major. January floods flowed up to 30 metres or more wide and up to 1 metre deep. Final drainage into lakes and rivers. Pastures looked to be mostly barley and brome grass with a very good germination of clover throughout. I tried to see if it was possible to take all creeks to one main one, but found that all were too deep to get a bank to come out, without going a long way back into neighbours farms. Creek A has not gone out in salt at the upper end and is above creek B. Is it possible that subsurface water is going under the ridge between A and B.
