Overview

Black and white photograph showing the Fallen Soldiers War Memorial Clock Tower in Subiaco's Rankin Garden's. The tower was constructed in a Neoclassical style, with a three stepped base which rises to an octagonal entablature, where two of the clock faces are visible and is crowned by an octagonal pointed roof with a spire. The clock tower features a singular framed doorway, and two slit windows can be seen in the two visible sides of the tower.

A large rectangular white building can be seen in the background behind the tower. There is a large tree on the right side of the photograph and a large pine tree on the left.

Historical information

The foundation stone laid 17 December 1922, by the Governor, Sir Francis Alexander Newdegate, for a memorial to the fallen soldiers of World War One and was unveiled in November 1923. Additional tablets of names ere added after World War Two.
