TOOL: LEATHER PRICKING WHEEL FOR STITCHING AND WHEELS, SEDGWICK
Wooden handled tool with curved metal arm. A round wheel with spokes is attached at the top and can be tightened by a metal bolt.
Likely used by Alexander Douglas Sedgwick in his shed at 50 Bedford Street, Subiaco.
Pricking wheels are usually used to just make impressions for stitches but will create marks that go all the way through on softer and thinner leather. The wheels are also removable so you can swap out new or different sized wheels to suite your needs.
