1907Front features a greyscale image of the convent. Rear of the card bears a red swan penny postage stamp and is written upon by L. Hillier, addressed to Mrs. Pitterson, Smith's Mill (Glen Forrest)
The 1907 Post Office Directory lists a Miss Linda Hillier, music teacher, living at The Avenue, Midland Junction. The Pitterson family ran a small store at Smith's Mill (Glen Forrest). The postcard came from a collection belonging to Shane Stribley's grandparents. A connection exists between the Pitterson and Stribley families. William Stribley married Hannah Herd in 1884. He died in 1888 as the result of a work accident. Hannah then married Ben Pitterson a couple of years later in 1891. Hannah and Ben had two children during their four years of marriage - Norman and Thomas. Thomas was Shane Stribley's grandfather. Hannah and Ben Pitterson moved to Smith's Mill (Glen Forrest) in the late 1800's.
The convent building featured on the front of the building still exists in Midland Junction.
