1990Surveyors Report on WISALTS Conservation System created by RH (Rod) Sawyer. Comments: (A) 3 feet (wet) sand over wet clay. (B) 1 foot 6 inches dry sand over dry clay in 5 metre span. Point (B) is a barrier. (C) 1 foot dry sand over dry clay. Lifted survey line from (C) in front of (B) to (D). Soil types mainly 1 foot of sand over clay. A horizon compacted. Shedding ground very shallow. Small areas deep sand (2 feet 6 inches) over clay. Hatched area in centre was static water or perched water, was not easy to determine problems. Throughflows only seemed to be about 3 feet deep. Review Comments: Rod you have done a good job. I have made a few comments that may already have been taken care of. After seeing the paddock I felt it was very badly leached and that was what the main objective was to achieve. You have achieved this with the plan. The instructions to the dozer driver are not clear in which end does the overflow come out of the banks, depths of banks or sealing material and capacity of banks. I realise it is an owner driver and this may be the reasons for not including it on the map.
