PHOTOGRAPH: HUMES WEMBLEY OFFICE, CLEANING UP AFTER FLOOD, 1982

1982
Overview

Colour photograph of the clean up on the top floor of the Humes Subiaco office after a flood. The flood was caused by a concrete bag having become stuck in the gutter, which lead to a blockage followed by flooding of the office floor.

The man at the forefront of the image wearing the grey sweater and pants is leaning forwards mopping the floor, and several buckets and metal waste bins can be seen throughout the office floor. Other subjects can be seen around the flooded office floor, including a man standing by a green pin-up board to the left of the image. To the right of the image is a vase of flowers and crystal ash tray set atop of a wooden shelf.

Reverse:

Wembley Office / Gutter failure causing flooding of top cloor / Aug '82 / Paul Cassidy, Frank Wheel, Ian Reid, John Jordan and Anne Carvalho.', handwritten in black ink.
