Property of HS (Harry) Whittington, 'Springhill', Brookton, Western Australia, Australia - 128

1910
Overview

Springhill in 1910. There is a deep creek between the homestead and the outbuildings. There was a heavy duty bridge over the creek to enable the wagons and other machinery to pass from side to side. The photograph would have been taken in the late autumn, this is only calculated by the condition of the trees in the orchard. Note the condition of the stubble on the ground in front of the homestead. The fertility of that valley was excellent. The area would have been cleared about 1897.
