Karta - represents one of the favoured food sources within the Noongar country. Integrated are the colours of the South West in Spring which makes it easier for him to hide and at times of the year he grows fat and sweet.

Peter, a Noongar artist, was born in Gnowangerup in 1971. He completed a Graduate Degree in Contemporary Aboriginal Art at Curtin University and went onto complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2001. This artwork was completed while Peter was still at University. To-date Peter's work has been exhibited in over twenty group exhibitions and three solo exhibition. In 2008 he was awarded "Visual Artist of the Year" Perth NAIDOC Awards, National Aboriginal and Islander Observance Committee. His work is located in the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS), Canberra and numerous private art collections worldwide.
