Written on back: This is the Building Called the "'Appy 'Ome" in which/Clive Hastings Napier (on extreme left) lived in 1891-3/ in Claremont Western Australia - it is now a Museum. Clive Napier batched there with 5 other men and they had a Chinese cook. He left there/to marry Florence Hursh of Perth in 1893 and they/lived in Goldsmith Road Claremont - Later after/the death of his wife he married Kitty Parice/ and eventually came to Dunedin to live in 1915/]. Man on horse possibly a constable. Ladies at front: left Mrs Napier; right Mrs Stevens. Others in Photo (possibly): J. Stephens, James Thompson, A Sherwood, J. Pelter (the other boarders in no particular order).
