Djedeide gorge formed the chief anti-tank barrier between Lebanon and Anti-lebanon ranges during the campaign. Australian troops prepared ditches, machine-gun posts and pillboxes in the gorge which started at the Anti-lebanon range and ran through the villages of Takis and Djedeide, across a wide plain to the Lebanon range.
