2 WOODEN SECTIONS OF GOLDFIELDS PIPELINE
Overview
Installed in Coolgardie area pipeline 1933\1937 when steel pipe difficult to obtain Made in Perth using Karri or Wandoo Eucalyptus Wood stave pipe made in same way as a wine barrel ,bound with steel wire and dipped into tar or bitumen for protection .Not greatly successful. Never used in Merredin area Second piece on platform --. Held by Mr. John Ivey for many years then Chris Jelinek P.O Box 390 Merredin 6415 Jan 2017 who donated it to the Museum
