Informal outdoor portrait of 3961 Quarter Master Charles Ziesler Date of Death 26 June 1918

Historical information

3961 Private Charles Ziesler of Perth enlisted on 12 November 1915 and embarked from Fremantle on HMAT A28 Miltiades on 12 February 1916 as part of 9th Reinforcement, 28 Battalion.. Promoted to Corporal and Temporary Sergeant and serving with 51 Battalion he was a victim of the flu epidemic and died of pneumonia on 26 June 1918. He is buried in St Mary’s New Churchyard, Codford, Wiltshire.
