Historical information

Busselton Colonial Mixed Public School was built in Mitchell Park in 1863 and demolished in the 1950s.

Norah Breeden, the painter, was Norah Killerby before she married Arthur Breeden. Norah arrived on the Wandilla's maiden voyage with mother and three sisters. They joined father & brother on their farm at Newtown. In 1915 they established a successful business in Busselton with branches throughout the southwest. Norah married Arthur Breeden 24/3/1925 having a daughter and two sons.

Selina Emma Earnshaw was a teacher at this school. She was the daughter of David Fothergill and Mary Earnshaw born in Bunbury in 1843.
Selina married Donald MacPherson in 1871 and was widowed in 1887.
According to the 1903 electoral role for Busselton she was still a school teacher.
Selina died in Perth in 1929 and is buried in the Busseltion Pioneer Cemetery.
