Image is from the Rutherford Album which is housed at the archives of the Rottnest Island Heritage Authority at Kingstown Barracks, Rottnest Island. The photographer was William Dennis Dawson, a professional photographer in Midland Junction. The image is dated between 1901 and 1902.

Contextual Information

Hoskins Brothers were one of two manufacturers contracted to manufacture pipes for the historic Goldfields pipeline that piped water from Mundaring to Kalgoorlie. Hoskins Brothers workshop was located on the south-east side of what later became the Western Australian Government Railway Midland Workshops.
