Overview
A fox fur stole, dyed black with brown twill fabric lining.
Has scrolled binding made of same material as lining, hand sewn near the head and a cord attached to the back left leg.
It has artificial eyes.
Historical information
Made from one of the first foxes shot in the district (1920's) by Edward Lawrence Twine on Mouramble? (property in the Nunyle District, Normans area).
Worn as a fashion choker in natural colour in 1926, but dyed black & restyled in 1938.
Donated to the museum collection in the early 1980s. It originally belonged to the donor's grandmother, Mrs Ernest Twine, who had it made into a stole and it was then passed on to her daughter, Beryl Martin who then passed it on to Jan Rochford (donor).
